Hello team,
unfortunately, the virtual joystick cannot be accessed via some computers. The Flet icon appears in the browser, i.e. the connection is established (URL and port was checked). Unfortunately, the start screen remains permanently. This problem was observed on newly installed computers, both under Ubuntu 24.04. with Firefox, as well as under Windows with Firefox.
Cheers,
Stefan May
Hello everyone,
unfortunately, we are unable to reproduce the problem with our available robots. Here is a picture of how we connected to the Virtual Joy with a Samsung smartphone using Firefox. It worked straight away and the robot could be controlled using the joysticks and buttons. Using a PC (Ubuntu 24.04, Firefox) also works without any noticeable problems.
For troubleshooting purposes, it would be helpful if we could take a look at the robot on which the problem occurred here in the lab.
Hello everyone,
there are some new informations regarding the issue:
The problem can be reproduced if neither server nor client have internet access. A network analysis shows that the client tries to download several resources from online sources when connecting to the server (See picture). If there is no Internet connection and the resources are not in the client’s cache, no complete connection is established.
Specifically, the following resources are missing:
- canvaskit.js (gstatic.com)
- MaterialIcons-Regular.otf
- KFOmCnqEu92Fr1Me5WZLCzYlKw.ttf
- CupertinoIcons.ttf
We will try to fix the problem as soon as possible. Until then, you have two options to work around the problem:
- (preferred) You also connect your computer via LAN to a network with internet access. Then your PC can download the resources.
- You connect the robot to an network with internet access via a LAN cable. But then your robot is wired.
We will let you know as soon as there are further updates!
Many thanks to the students from Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Gymnasium for their help with troubleshooting!
